Volunteers needed for Santa Claus Parade on Nov 17
Posted: 20071010 - To: All members
As you all know, our club relies heavily on donations and grants from various organizations in order to function.
The Lion’s Club has been a major benefactor by donating a large sum of money to our club each year which we use to help out with tournament and travel costs. Our club has previously shown our gratitude by helping the Lion’s Club with programs such as Roadside Clean-up and Chocolate Easter Bunny Sales.
This year they are asking us to help them with their annual Santa Claus Parade which takes place on Saturday, November 17th. Unfortunately this coincides with our Cadet Classic Tournament. I realize that many of our members will be involved with the tournament as both participating team players and minor officials. I am therefore asking anyone who is not directly involved with the tournament to step forward at this time and give a few hours in support of both the Lion’s Club and our own club.
This will be a fun experience for those able to participate. The athletes volunteering will be given costumes to wear for the 7 km route of the parade. Our older bantam players and any available youth are therefore most eligible. Adults are required to act as traffic marshals for the route, walking alongside the floats.
Our club doesn’t want to lose the generous patronage of the Lion’s Club. Please do your part in supporting our relationship and give your time to this event.
They are looking for a prompt response as to our numbers and so I would ask for your replies ASAP. Please reply to this e-mail.
Thank you everyone for your consideration in this,
Linda Potovszky,
President KW Water Polo
