 K- W Water Polo Players create a Splash at OUA FinalsPosted: 20081201 The Inferno Water Polo Club is proud of the performance of many of its alumni throughout the OUA (Ontario University Athletics) season and into the OUA Finals. Max Pottier, Ryan Speers and Paulo Ruiz all played with the University Of Toronto Varsity Blues during the Ontario University Water Polo fall season. In the OUA Men's Final, the U of T Varsity Blues defeated the Carlton Raven's 7 - 6 in Ottawa. This was the Varsity Blues' 4th championship in the past 5 years. Team captain Max Pottier and scoring sensation Ryan Speers were named as OUA All Stars. On the woman's side, Casey Pottier and Nicole Brown were among the leagues top scorers and helped lead the University of Toronto Varsity Blues Woman's Team to it's first OUA Chmapionship since the early 1990s. Nicole Brown, Casey Pottier and team captain, Regan Reid were all named to the OUA Woman's All Star Team. Greg Hoegy was Western's top scorer and was also named to the OUA Men's All Star Team. The K-W Water Polo club is very proud of the success of these athletes and congratulates them on their outstanding accomplishments during the 2008 OUA season.
