More gold for KW's 14U Girls Posted: 20090514 KW's 14U girls, as members of the OWP Unattached team, had a first place finish at the recent 2009 14U AAA Club Championships. On the weekend of May 9th & 10th, four of our 14U girls represented the KW Water Polo Club at the 2009 AAA Girls Provincial Championships in Etobicoke. Emily Bidinosti, Alexandra Nicholson, Toby Root and Tori Wilson played in the tournament on the unattached OWP team comprised of girls from 4 different Ontario water polo clubs. This team was assembled to allow players from the smaller clubs (which don't have full 14U girls rosters) to participate in the competition. The girls and their OWP team played five games over the 2 days and handily defeated squads from the York, Ottawa and Hamilton clubs, going a perfect 5-0 for the tournament. Despite their overwhelming success, the team was ineligible to win the provincial banner, but the girls did receive gold medals for their efforts, and Emily Bidinosti was named to the provincial all-star team.
